Stock reports
Problem definition:
Across the corporate group there were a large number of storage locations (> 130) that served different functions. Unfortunately, these storage locations could not be described precisely enough with master data in the SAP system and therefore could not be evaluated. In order to minimize the amount of capital tied up in stock, the focus on quality-related stock (blocked stock) was particularly useful.
Situation before:
No alternative solution available.
Situation afterwards:
In order to eliminate the deficits in the storage location description and classification, the first step was to record and maintain this data. In the process, all clumsy storage location designations such as department and employee names were identified by area, sub-area, product type and a specifying aspect. Another classification feature was whether the warehouse was a restricted warehouse or not.
Combined with this information, the global stock levels provided daily from SAP could then be enriched and reports be generated. This ensured that the capital blocked by quality problems was kept as low as possible.
